The Ameresco Project is located in Valencia, California near Lake Castaic.
In November 2010, SCPPA began receiving test energy from this landfill gas project. SCPPA currently purchase up to 10 MW of renewable energy, generated using landfill gas produced at the Chiquita Canyon Landfill.
Microturbines onsite have a total generating capacity of 10 MW. SCPPA Members receive 100% of the project output.
