SCPPA Purchased Interest in Unit 3 in 1993.

Peak Unit 3 Capacity: Rated at 488 MW

Future Plans:

Five SCPPA participants own 41.8% of Unit 3 at the San Juan Generating Station, a coalfired plant in New Mexico. A series of Interim Invoicing Agreements for fuel has led to high capacity factors and lower per unit fuel costs.

The underground mine is performing well, and the plant is embarking on a major environmental upgrade project. Unit 3’s major work is scheduled for the spring of 2008.
