500 kV Direct Current transmission line, rated at 1,920 MW

Future Plans: Line upgrade for increased transmission of wind energy.

The Southern Transmission System (STS) consists of a 488-mile transmission line and the associated converter stations on each end.

Line connects the Intermountain Power Project (near Delta, Utah) to a switching station located in Adelanto, California.
500 KV direct current transmission line rated at 1,920 MW.

Contribution-in-aid of construction was $1.23 billion, in exchange for 100% entitlement to the capability of the line, but not ownership.
