SCPPA Participants: Burbank, Glendale, LADWP

Year Built: 2003

Peak Project Capacity: 144 MW

Future Plans: Additional wind energy projects in State of Washington

The Southwest Wyoming wind energy facility is on ranch land currently used for cattle grazing. Agricultural activities take place directly adjacent to the wind turbine foundation pads.

The site, located in Uinta County, approximately 10 miles northeast of Evanston, has 80 Vestas V80, 1.8 MW wind turbines. Tower height is 60 meters and rotor diameter is 80 meters. From the project's substation, energy is transmitted across PacifiCorp transmission lines from southwestern Wyoming west to the Salt Lake City area and/or east to Colorado.
