SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CITIES TO CELEBRATE DEDICATION OF
MAGNOLIA POWER PROJECT IN BURBANK ON JUNE 2 (05/16/05)
BURBANK,
Calif.—The mayors and utility
officials for six Southern California cities (Anaheim,
Burbank, Cerritos,
Colton, Glendale and Pasadena) participating in the
310-megawatt (MW) Magnolia Power Project (Magnolia)
are expected here
for the June 2 dedication ceremony. Gov. Arnold
Schwarzenegger,
a long-time proponent of building additional power
generating plants in California, is among the
federal, state and
local invitees for the landmark event, which
is open to the public.
The dedication ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at the project
site, 110 W. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank.

Southern California Public Power Authority (“SCPPA”)
reported today that its municipal
utility members, including Anaheim, Azusa, Banning,
Burbank,
Cerritos, Colton, Glendale, Los Angeles, Pasadena,
Riverside and Vernon and the
Imperial Irrigation District, have
committed over one-half billion dollars to Public
Benefit
Programs over the last seven years.

PROPOSALS FOR INNOVATIVE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES (05/18/04)
The Southern
California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) is soliciting proposals
for the demonstration of innovative energy technologies that
would benefit
electric utility customers in Southern California. Funding
for this program is provided pursuant to the public goods charge
collected from SCPPA member electric utility customers pursuant
to state
law, therefore the technologies supported must be related
to the efficient usage, storage, management, or distributed
generation of electricity.

CALIFORNIA’S LARGEST
WIND PLANT (09/03/03)
On September 1st, the cities of Anaheim, Azusa,
Colton, Glendale, and Pasadena began taking
output from the state’s largest
wind plant, the High Winds Energy Center
in Solano County, California. These cities all operate municipally
owned electric utilities and are
members of the Southern California Public Power Authority
(SCPPA).

The Southern California Public Power Authority
(SCPPA) is soliciting competitive proposals
for 70 to 120 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy, through
equity participation in one or more renewable power facilities
(preferred),
or under a long-term contract (optional).
